A Beautiful Pochette / dancing masters fiddle ‘said to have been found in the thatch of a cottage at Greenlaw, Berwickshire, Scotland.’
The body is carved out from one piece of plain maple and the large finial at the lower end is presumably in order to make the instrument easier to hold. A simple and pleasing form.
In place of a tailpiece there is a round pin that the strings are tied onto.
String length: 30cm
Total length: 56cm
