Every part is made by hand to the musicians requirements with an unsurpassed attention to detail, resulting in an instrument perfectly suited to each player.
I continually measure and examine historical instruments in museums and collections around the world to inform my making, so that my instruments look, sound, and feel like the originals.
I use a wide range of traditional decorative techniques such as carving, gilding, marquetry and inlay, creating artistically rich instruments that equal the depth of craft skill seen on early instruments.
“I base all of my designs on historical examples, taking inspiration from far and wide. I am continually surprised at how contemporary the results can be”
